Mindfulness and Movement Classes
These family-friendly mindfulness meditation classes provide many benefits, including improved focus and attention, reduced stress and anxiety as well as better sleep and a confidence boost, which we all could use from time to time.
We’re pleased to now offer this virtual meditation practice led by Brittany of Meditating Mama. During this one hour class, participants will practice breathing techniques to help them slow and calm down as well as participate in playful, games and activities that encourage bonding between parent and child.
Taking place Monday, May 5 at 3:00 pm, Mindfulness & Movement for Kids teaches parents and children how to be aware of their thoughts and emotions, introduces fun and relaxing breathing techniques, offers guided practice on focusing and releasing distractions, movement and meditation. This class is recommended for kids 5-11. Moms, dads, grandparents, and other caregivers welcome (optional). Registration is required.
Also available is our Mindfulness & Movement for Teens session, which teaches teenagers and their parents how to be more aware of their thoughts and emotions through interactive games and activities as well as introducing mindful meditation with relaxing and fun breathing techniques. Attendees will learn how to focus and release distractions in between movement exercises to keep children engaged throughout the session. This class is helpful for stress and anxiety and is geared toward tweens and teens, ages 12 – 17. Parent attendance optional. Registration is required.
Brittany started on her path of meditation at the age of 17, discovering the benefits of many different types of meditation. At the age of 21, she was introduced to Mindfulness Meditation and has been practicing for over 20 years. In 2014, Brittany started Meditating Mama and now guides and teaches public and private semi-guided Mindfulness Meditation classes for beginners all over San Diego.
