✨ How it All Started
Before opening Firefly Spa, Karen worked as a computer programmer and software trainer, where she spent her days watching people hunched over their keyboards for hours at a time. She became increasingly aware of how that lifestyle contributed to neck and shoulder tension and began to feel that she wanted to be part of the solution rather than the problem. This realization helped inspire her career change into wellness, where she could directly help people feel better, move more comfortably, and care for their bodies.
Firefly Spa grew from that vision; a woman‑owned Mission Hills sanctuary designed to help you feel better in your body and brighter in your day. Eight years later, we’re still here, still grateful, and still honored to care for this community!

We’re marking our 8‑year anniversary with something special — a community contest designed to highlight the moments that make you feel your best. From September 1–25, 2026 share a photo or video that captures your personal glow. It can be taken during your Firefly treatment, after your service, or simply while doing something that helps you feel calm, confident, and connected.

- Must currently live in the San Diego area
- Must be able to redeem the prize in person between Oct 1–31, 2026.
- Members and guests are welcome — members may enter and the prize is in addition to their monthly treatment.
- Limit: one entry per social media profile.

The Firefly Spa team will select the winner based on:
