Firefly Wellness Day Spa Celebrates its One Year Anniversary
It’s our anniversary and we are celebrating!
I can’t believe it but it’s already been a year since Firefly Wellness Day Spa opened our doors in Mission Hills. The expansion had been a dream of mine for many years and when I finally started the ball rolling on the project, it took over two years to finally get everything up and running.
It has been a long journey to get to this point, this past year has been a roller coaster, and now I can’t wait to celebrate our first anniversary with YOU and the community and all of those who have supported me and helped make it happen.

Before and After
Scroll down for details about our expansion and take a look at what our space looked like when I first picked up the keys!
Backstory
Since 2000, I’ve been working as a solo massage therapist an esthetician. At my private studio in North Park, I was able to serve one client at a time. While it was cozy and calming, I had visions of creating a larger space where multiple clients could take advantage of the health & wellness offerings I wanted to add to our list of services.
2019
Just one year after our Grand Opening in Mission Hills, I am proud to say Firefly Wellness Day Spa now employs top quality Yoga/Meditation Instructors, Therapists, and Estheticians specializing in Massage, Skincare, and Waxing.
Before & After
I picked up the keys for the space after securing the lease back in August of 2017 and I had no idea what was in store but I was nervous and excited about the opportunity to expand and to be able to introduce more people to the health & wellness space I had envisioned.
This empty space was ours to create and with help from the right people, we were able to design the perfect environment for a relaxing and welcoming day spa.
With blue painter’s tape on the floor, we mapped out where the walls would be, separating the front lobby from the tranquil rooms where we now see clients.
Fresh paint starts to bring this place to life but it’s still hard to imagine what the space would look like once we finished the building stage and moved into the design and decorating of the day spa.
This beautiful hand-made bamboo countertop that sits in our front lobby was lovingly built by my husband, Stephen. He was instrumental in helping this space become what it is today.
Our Grand Opening was the first time many of my clients – some of whom have been with me for over a decade – had seen this space. It was truly amazing to see it all come together and to be able to celebrate the success and hard work that everyone put into creating Firefly Wellness Day Spa.
